Oh Boy (George)! KTZ Fall/Winter 2012

The Cyrillic lettering on KTZ's fall pieces spells out "Do you really want to hurt me?". If George Alan O'Dowd had been born in the USSR, this is what he would have sung. And, to keep warm, he might have enjoyed a tartan puffer vest with a fur hood and detachable kilt. As the invasion of check and big shirts suggests, this season the KTZ team (Sasko, Marjan, and Koji) took their cue from Culture Club's millinery-loving front man, Boy George.

The collection offers up everything you could want for a night at The Blitz: berets, tartan, and leather—and berets made out of tartan and leather. Even a beret finished with devil horns. The other major influence this season is the Eastern mysticism. So, decorating oversized 80s shapes are Russian religious symbols, sewn on as embroidered patches or picked out in jacquard knits.
