Spring will have sprung before we know it, and it's time to get into a floral state of mind. If you check out our Just In page, we're already there, right along with British brand MOTHER OF PEARL. Every season, Maia Norman and Amy Powney collaborate with a new artist on vivacious prints that dance across their garments. This time around, the artists served more as an inspiration: London painting duo EMMA BIGGS AND MATTHEW COLLINGS's color palettes and geometric patterns were translated into a bright, flowery collection.
Biggs and Collings are perhaps best known for their triangle oil paintings, whose colors and precise angles suit Mother of Pearl's aesthetic well. The oranges, blues, and pinks of their painting Commanded lent themselves to the resort collection's color palette, and their medium of choice—oil paints—influenced the painterly strokes of the floral prints. Mother of Pearl always creates wearable works of art, and the resort collection especially looks like a newly completed canvas. But it's already dry, so you can take your masterpiece home right away.
