Kenzo Fall/Winter 2014 at Paris Men's Fashion Week

This morning, the stunning atrium of Paris' Centorial building in the 2nd arrondissement was abuzz with excitement for the mega-anticipated Kenzo men's Fall/Winter 2014 collection. Kenzo creative directors (and Opening Ceremony co-founders) Carol Lim and Humberto Leon hit it out of the park again, with a grown up, heavy duty collection inspired by steelworkers and their uniforms.

At its most literal interpretation, the theme took the form of tiny metal embellishments on knit sweaters (from mohair to waxy-textured, these were one of our favorite things about the collection!) and super chunky shoes. The models also donned wide necks that, as Humberto revealed to us backstage, are actually separate shawl-like accessories.

Debuting with subdued browns, the looks made their way into richer colors, like fuchsia and a recurring acidic yellow that supplied the collection with an electric pop. Models walked to a hard soundtrack by Fade to Mind's Fatima Al Qadiri––which could not have matched the collection more perfectly. If this is urban workwear's new uniform, sign us up for overtime.
