Mac Demarco, whose expressive jam-outs make experiencing him live a totally different kind of affair, is one of those guys you can't help but smile back at when he goes onstage. After his set at this year's FYF Fest in Los Angeles, Mac managed to find time to answers some of our questions—in between signing an endless stream of T-shirts and records from hysterical fans.
Danny Sway: If your most recent album were the soundtrack to a film, what would it be and why?
Mac DeMarco: The Fighter with Christian Bale. People are always saying I dress like his character. Ha!
What's your desert island disc?
A Frisbee!
Speaking of discs, what would be on your dream pizza?
Just cheese, I think. If you can make a plain pizza well enough, then fuck toppings.
Best tour food you've had?
Chantal's home cooking in Dijon, France.
Worst tour food you've had?
We got $400 of Taco Bell coupons at SXSW this year. We had the worst food ever, over and over and over again.
Whose style did you admire as a teenager?
Kagney Linn Carter's (or her lack thereof)
Favorite thing to do when you're not listening to music?
Pinball
