In "The Look" OC friends drop by to try on our favorite new arrivals, and tell us about their wardrobe preferences past and present.
On the day before her first day of college and the morning before playing a show in Brooklyn with her band Sunflower Bean, Julia Cumming came by OCHQ to say hi! As if that weren't enough to be thinking about, it was also raining torrentially. Dodging spray from passing trucks, we took a few pieces from the latest Chloë Sevigny for OC collection for a spin. As you may or may not have noticed, Julia also modeled the collection for us alongside Chloë, and she moonlighted as Miss January in our swimsuit editorial. And she plays bass. Seriously, what can't she do?

What look are you into at the moment? Glam rock goth from 1973!
What look were you into in high school? I started out wearing lots of florals and heavy patterns, and slowly transitioned into a more elegant, dark vibe.
Most regrettable fashion moment? One time the band made these god-awful costumes out of colored fake fur and gold polyester gauze. We looked like rejects from space. I kind of loved them though. We wore them a lot.
Your 3 wardrobe essentials? Black boots, black high-waisted jeans, and a bangin' jacket.
Your 3 wardrobe wishes for fall? A nice cashmere sweater, that ridiculously cute furry Chloë cocoon coat, and wool socks.
Most prized piece in your wardrobe? A vintage Vivienne Tam dress covered in multicolor appliqué flowers given to me by my mom. I live in it.
Favorite spots to shop? I really love this thrift store Urban Jungle in Bushwick. Great finds for under ten bucks, baby.
This olive Chloë cardigan is pretty much the ultimate cardigan. It's sludge green and made from mohair which definitely makes it more Kurt Cobain than cuddles and cuteness.
"Is this (exclusive!) rose-embroidered Opening Ceremony top totally see-through?" you ask. Yes, yes it is. So we layered a Prism swimsuit underneath it.
I have a lot of time for corduroy. Combined with the mini A-line shape of this skirt, it feels super authentic. Like your mom might have owned this piece in the late 60s.
