Warm Up 2013: DJ Dodger Stadium, Hyetal, Octave One, and Julio Bashmore

August has arrived, signaling that summer will soon come to a close––say it ain't so! Luckily the Warm Up series at MoMA PS1 continues to bring the heat, and this weekend’s line-up boasted another stellar set of artists that kept the crowd movin’ and groovin’ from high noon to sundown. DJ Dodger Stadium, the duo comprised of Samo Sound Boy and Jerome LOL, got things off to a rousing start with their club-ready house sound, paving the way for Hyetal to kick things up a notch with his hip-hop infused beats that had everyone making their way to the dance floor, STAT. Detroit techno veterans Octave One absolutely rocked it with their live set (not a computer in sight) bringing back the vintage techno vibes like it was 1989. Next, watching brothers Lenny and Lawrence Burden play together was a treat in and of itself, talk about brotherly love! And just as the sun was setting over the CODA Party Wall, Julio Bashmore took to the stage, providing the perfect sultry soundtrack to end the evening.
