Strindberg Selfies Inspired Acne Studios' New Men's Collection

There is nothing I like more than a well-tailored, classic, basic outfit, except for maybe a literary reference. Lucky for me, Acne Studios' Fall men's collection has both in spades. Jonny Johansson's inspiration came from viewing an exhibition of playwright August Strindberg at Stockholm's Fotografiska photo museum, revealing the writer's interest in self-portraiture and the distribution of said selfies. The exhibition gave a very in-depth look into August's wardrobe and served as a huge influence for this collection. Simple, utilitarian shapes are the focus here, with the signature slim Acne silhouette. From a classic knit cardigan and a long button-down to satin trousers and sleek boots, these looks are as ageless as a good play. (Miss Julie, anyone?) If August were around today, I bet he'd snap up this whole collection and his #WIWTs on Instagram would get tons of likes. He'd get my like, that's for sure.
