If you make something perfect, why change it? Jonathan "J.W." Anderson is the grand master of mixing things up (bustiers for boys, anyone?) but he also knows when he's got a good thing going. His pre-Fall 2013 collection, fresh in at OC, was presented within days of his groundbreaking Fall/Winter 2013 men's collection in Paris last January. And the ruffled shorts and leather gladiator tunics for boys that jolted the front row awake also star in the women's collection. (If you want to get really geeky: the shorts appeared first in J.W.'s SS13 women's collection. They went from women's to men's to women's...) Both pieces are amazing in their own right (the ruffled shorts' tulip hem makes your legs look like delicate stems; the leather tunic is slit to the waist) but they're also part of J.W. Anderson's unique, developing fashion history.
