Did you experience confusion, anxiety, or distress at yesterday's Eckhaus Latta Fall/Winter 2013 presentation? Before you talk to your doctor about Xanax today, hear this: you were not alone. In fact, you were experiencing exactly what designers Mike Eckhaus and Zoe Latta intended.

Produced by artists Eve Essex and Juan Olivares, the performance involved models rotating in and out of mock photo shoot spaces, where each had a solo, dictated by instuctions projected onto a screen and a color-coded sheet of tasks. The solos ranged from playing drums and reading from Steve Jobs' biography (spot images of the Apple founder printed onto the collection) to arm wrestling and doing yoga. Now and again, models would move through the crowd carrying a wooden beam, dissolving the boundaries between viewer and performer.

The collection itself championed layers, textural play (hello fleece, chenille, mesh, and more), and oversized, boxy, and draped silhouettes. Done in a predominantly white palette, the looks possessed an inarguable sense of purity, possibly aided by the halo-like orbs at the pieces' hems, and the serene expressions of the models.
