OC x NYFW: Lucio Castro FW13

Everyone was grinning at Lucio Castro's fall presentation yesterday. It was a combination of all the yellow (on the clothes, the floor, and a translucent vinyl partition), the rotating lineup of male models (I love menswear shows), and the story behind the collection. As he explained, Lucio had recently been summoned to court in the town of Olive, New York to answer for a speeding ticket. The courthouse was "a dazzling yellow vortex" where the institutional decor included comforting shades of carpeting. Happily, Lucio's charges were dropped when the state trooper failed to show up. Instead, he came away with the idea for a collection of warm outdoor fabrics, fit for upstate, made with eye-popping color panels. Take that, State of New York.
