OC x NYFW: Altuzarra SS13

With nipped waists, tasseled fringe, utilitarian striped denim, and over-the-knee Spartan sandals, CFDA darling Joseph Altuzarra went deep into an encyclopedia of Parisian chic last night. The pared-down sensibility of the collection is a testament to our Howard Street neighbor's ambition, as well as the association with styling geniuses Mélanie Huynh and Vanessa Traina. The strict, sleek side parts and Riviera tans felt quite French Vogue in the best way, and capelets with arm vents evoked the street style obsession with wearing one's coat over the shoulders. We loved the procession from crisp, punchy daywear with shades of blue to gilded evening looks with scarf-like draping. An invigorating, promising, and wearable show with style in spades.
