Suno devotees came out in full force last night to see Erin Beatty and Max Osterweis's spring collection, a fresh mix of their signature prints with more elegance than ever. When asked to describe the collection in five words, Max offered up: "Airy, prairie, modern, feminine, optimistic."
Optimistic certainly describes the brand's exuberant combinations, such as an embroidered french blue pinafore top layered over contrasting striped separates and finished with floral Nicholas Kirkwood heels (the fruit of another winning collab). One dress, printed with brightly colored cell phones, evokes the similarly absurdist kangas Max found in Kenya that sparked him to start the line four years ago.
The show ended with a few options for a June wedding in a treehouse or on the beach: a very Downton empire-waist gown and a silk floral floor-length ensemble. As the girls walked by for the finale, the subtle white backdrop made by ConfettiSystem fluttered softly. Judging from the outfits in the front row, including Erin's mom Kathleen in a black and white animal-printed fall dress, there are quite a few women drinking Suno's potent printed Kool-Aid.
