With the 2012 summer Olympics happening as well as the launch of our ADIDAS ORIGINALS X OPENING CEREMONY collaboration collection, we're feeling sportier than ever! In our "Let's Get Physical" series, we checked in with friends of OC to find out what they do to stay in shape.

Name: Carlos Quirarte
Occupation: Restaurateur and club owner
How long have you been running for? About two years
How often do you run, and where? Three to five times a week. I personally like running up 1st Avenue––it's much prettier than you'd think.
Running to me is like: Therapy.
How do you prepare for running? Light stretching and if I can I see Jimmy Lynch once a week at Wharton Health, he is an amazing muscular therapist.
Any favorite sports snacks or drinks? The oatmeal at The Smile is great after a run. And maybe a smoothie called The Guru from The Juice Press.
Immediately after this running, I: Try to eat within half an hour.
In high school, gym class was: Easy to talk your way out of!
Top songs on your workout playlist? "Oh My God" by Jay-Z, "Wide Awake" by Katy Perry, and "Time Bomb" by Beck.
Fitness inspiration/hero? Mariko Munro. She got me to the gym and that's the hardest part. Once you're there, it's easy.
Favorite workout moment in pop culture? I love the incorporation of treadmills into music videos, like in David Banner's "Play" video. If that doesn't make you wanna run or work out, I'm not sure what will.
Do you have a record you're trying to beat? Last year I did the New York Marathon in 5 hours and 7 minutes. This year I just wanna do it in under 5 hours; wish me luck.
Favorite workout mantra? Everyone is an athlete; everyone is born with the tools. It's our choice to use them.
Any tips for someone who wants to start running? Take it slow. It's a marathon, not a race.
