Ain't No Party Like An M$$ Party

Last night, OC's 33 Howard street location was transformed into a giant sea of bucket hats getting down to hip-hop beats and chatter from excited attendees. The launch of Melissa Forde's M$$ x WT hat collaboration was an "intimate" event (by Roc Nation standards) that showcased the release of Forde's three bucket hat styles—pink pineapple, black mesh, and rasta print—in collaboration with Wrkng Title.

During the festivities, guests sipped on summery drinks from D’ussé while taking pics in The Bosco booth and getting down to ass-shaking tunes courtesy of DJ Spade. The only thing as stylish as the bucket hats was the guest list, where A-listers—otherwise known as Forde's BFFs—such as Rihanna showed up to support her bestie and get down to bangers such as "Bitch Better Have My Money.” iPhone whip-outs and fan selfies aside, BadGalRiRi had nothing but kind words about her friend's collection.

“I’m proud. I love to see that she’s being fly. She’s my best friend and I’m just really happy to see her put her creative style into a type of outlet, some type of thing that she can see come to life because she has great taste,” Rihanna told OC. “I was really impressed by the designs and the prints. I think the pineapple print is definitely my favorite because it makes me want a Pina Colada and the beach and summer.”

Wrkng Title owner Wale also had nothin' but love for the new creative director of his hat line.

"Melissa and I have been friends for a long time. I just trust her, I think she’s an amazing person and she’s just a genius. She’s someone who gets aesthetics and fashion and understands how things are supposed to look. I just wish I had like, five of her, to perfect my life,” Wale told us. “I just knew that my company needed something that was going to take us to the next stratosphere and she’s done that and more. She’s surpassed all expectations with flying colors."

We need five of Melissa Forde too—to keep creating more coveted bucket hats.
