'Magic Stick': Alex Da Corte at Still House

Last Saturday was the opening of Magic Stick, Alex Da Corte's new show as a STILL HOUSE residency artist at the collective's Red Hook studios. The show (whose name may or may not refer to the Lil' Kim and 50 Cent song) is full of contemporary culture references that pop up like the installations' candy colors. The works shown are light and delicate but complex. In a month, Alex will fly to LA with Peter Sutherland and the rest of the Still House crew, where they have been invited to do a five-week residency at the Geffen Contemporary at MOCA. I can't wait to visit them in LA.
