Graphic Rebellion: German Lavrovskiy Fall/Winter 2014

It would be easy to be envious of Moscow-based designer German Lavrovskiy—if his digitally influenced designs weren't so damn good. Already well-known as a fresh-faced male model, the designer can be seen in Candy magazine videos and Gosha Rubchinskiy editorials when he isn't creating capsule collections with Nicola Formichetti for Nicopanda—which he first accomplished at the tender age of 16, mind you. This season, the multi-talented youngster has managed to channel his indisputable good looks into undeniably innovative clothing with his eponymous debut collection. 

Straying from the limitations of most graphic, print-heavy collections, Lavrovskiy's Fall/Winter 2014 collection features detachable appliques and bright-teal ostrich feathers. Challenging the conservative views of his native land, Lavrovskiy's signature collage art can be seen in the form of homoerotic graphics printed onto silk panels and a muscled man embroidered onto a sweater. Each piece represents Lavrovskiy's rebellious lifestyle. And each unique garment seemingly gives two middle fingers to the status quo.
