Floral Mania: Monitaly Spring/Summer 2014

Yuki Matsuda, the Japanese designer behind the footwear brand Yuketen, pays tribute to historic, vintage Americana with his menswear label Monitaly (a portmanteau of the designer’s greatest loves: his daughter Monica, the word military, and Italy). For his Spring/Summer 2014 collection, the designer injected a playfully modern aesthetic into timeless silhouettes: Traditional military gear inspired the construction techniques, while pieces like a classic pullover and a pair of shorts are rendered in 80s-era floral prints. Bonus: The athletic-inspired hockey jersey, which plays an ideal companion to its colorful counterparts.
