OC x NYFW: N.Hoolywood FW12

Taped to a wall backstage at N.Hoolywood’s FW12 show was a sheet displaying three generations of archetypal gentlemen. A rugged (preferably bearded) soul was the man du jour, slipping perfectly into the 1920s sea captain and soldier characters the collection painted. Short back and sides haircuts, round wire spectacles, and tanned faces added to the story.

Inspiration and styling aside, it was the collection's variety that impressed: bottoms were up for grabs in slim, boot, cargo, and extra loose cuts, cropped to various lengths in tweed, tartan, indigo, and tan. Denim had a hand too, appearing both raw and washed, and sometimes in a patchwork of the two. Outerwear was, as we’ve come to expect, right on point—demonstrating designer Daisuke Obana's ability to create something that is not only functional but super luxurious. And for those nights when you’re allowed off the ship or out of the trenches, have a shave (or not) and slip into one of the collection's perfectly tailored suits.
