Olympia Le Tan Fall/Winter 2014: Paris Fashion Week

Lights, camera, cabaret! At Olympia Le Tan’s Fall/Winter 2014 presentation late last night, everyone was having a jolly good time, right down to the models on the runway. Titled "I Put a Spell on You," the collection was part magic show, part striptease in reverse, with some Schiaparelli brand of surrealism thrown in for good measure. Black leotards with enlarged bunny motifs set the tone as models entered from the middle of an enormous painted top hat. Then came a parade of low-cut tuxedos in black velvet, sequined briefs with playing card motifs, dresses trimmed with white bird appliqués and fur, and body-hugging purple and red ensembles. A lineup of pink angora sweaters, patent black skirts, and scarves tied round heads, evoked Frenchy from Grease, but then—abracadabra!—a black hoodie with sequined text transported us to the 90s. And no Olympia Le Tan collection would be complete without her bags: each look was paired with either the signature hand-embroidered book clutches, or a top hat purse with rabbit ear handles.
