The Opening Ceremony Fall/Winter 2014 show was a celebration of all things Belgian, right down to the collection’s central motif: hands. Drawing on the myth of Antwerp’s founding—named for a soldier who marked his victory against a giant by cutting off its hand—hands appeared all throughout the collection, from fingerprint textures on printed trousers to full hand graphic sweaters. OC’s Fall/Winter 2014 accessories served as the perfect accents to the collection’s themes: incorporating anatomy into handbag hardware and emphasizing tactile textures in both men’s and women’s shoes.
