This past weekend, Ami designer Alexandre Mattiussi turned the Palais de Tokyo into a winter wonderland, staging a snowy Parisian street scene, replete with powdery whiteness and street lamps, for his catwalk. Having cut his teeth at Dior Homme's 30 Avenue Montaigne line, Marc Jacobs, and Givenchy, Mattiussi seems to have inherited the clean aesthetic of his past work experiences: he sent sharply dressed men (and women––French eternal cool girl Caroline de Maigret modeled one of the looks, much to everyone's delight) down the runway in tailored looks. Classic prints like houndstooth, plaids, and polka dots appeared on bombers, aviator jackets, and button-downs, but the real Ami twist lay in the casual-cool elements of the collection, like hoodies layered under blazers and all-white sneakers topping off most of the looks with street-smart ease.
