Juun.J Fall/Winter 14 at Paris Men's Fashion Week

Juun.J's menswear is always precise and sporty, focusing on dark color palettes of navy, grey, and black. As a result, his collections have continuously had an air of maturity, with an added dose of humor from his garments' shapes. But this season, the designer's oeuvre changed direction rather drastically. Missing were the usual generous silhouettes and neoprene pieces. Instead, these gave way to tailored looks of mock necks, color-blocking, and smooth leather, which was especially noticeable when it peeked out from under the cuffs of brushed wool coats. Still, the designer's penchant for oversizing was apparent in structured drop-shoulders and large lapels––all of it brought together by his signature colors of preference. If the Spring/Summer 2014 collection was a schoolboy's dream of uniforms and after-school sports, with this collection, the Juun.J man has finished his formal education. The graduation into pleating and pony hair was sudden, and a very successful one at that. They grow up so fast, don't they?
