OC x NYFW: Patrik Ervell SS14

The junction between technology and nature has been a long-term subject of interest for Patrik Ervell. For Spring/Summer 2014, the designer was inspired by sailing, especially by sailors' uniforms, which he described as "the ultimate image of man in union with nature." As such, Patrik seemed determined to create his own sailor's uniform. A common look on the runway was rubberized fabrics layered over crisp light cottons, joined with simple tailored shorts. Technical details on the garments drove the theme home—we saw joined seams, bonded fabrics, and the use of sailcloth. This collection had all the Ervell signatures: a classic sporty look, interesting details, and clean lines, resulting in easy-to-wear, utilitarian garments that promise smooth sailing from here on in.
