Drag racing in suburban Los Angeles and traditional Korean robes may seem a world apart. But then we saw Opening Ceremony's spring menswear collection at the SuperPier in New York last night. It was like The Fast and the Furious: Seoul Drift. But chicer. Adapting long-established Korean garment construction techniques, like pojagi (a form of patchwork), the collection starred amped-up geometric prints and paneling that also referenced race track visuals. Oversized neoprene tees featured wave-shaped panels and metallic racing stripes. Styled by Brian Molloy, they were worn with slim-pants with outsize pockets and tech-y swim trunks. And for outerwear, this spring your options will be glossy funnel-neck coats made form rubberized canvas, generously proportioned cotton blazers, and leather moto jackets with crossover fronts and curving shoulders. Feast your eyes on the collection in the backstage images below. Go team OC!
