OC x NYFW: Delpozo SS14

The audience at Delpozo was in raptures after the brand's spring show on Saturday. While they mostly spoke in very fast Spanish, my grade-school level vocabulary could pick up que hermosa. The storied Spanish label has shown twice in New York now, since its reinvention by creative director Josep Font in 2012, and no one could disagree that this collection was totally straight-up beautiful. It gave you chills. It would be hard to call out themes because every look was so different, but the show did fall into several clear sections. The looks started out in pale, translucent organza and floral jacquard, then moved into a sunflower series, followed by ruffled floral silk, and finally ivory crepe embroidered with neon flowers. Common to each section were lucite beads and floral paillettes that twinkled as the models walked, as well as metallic pastel shoes finished with giant bows. Everything about the show was OTT in all the right ways.
