Fine Wine: Happy Birthday, Gillian Anderson!

If you're like me and have a self-confessed sci-fi nerd brother (or friend, or relative), you probably know that Gillian Anderson, to your average teen boy (or girl), isn't just Gillian Anderson. She is Agent Dana Scully, aka X-Files protagonist, and the girl of every die-hard E.T./Star Trek/ Star Wars devotee's dreams.

Between breaking up the Peacock Family reunion, sending substitute-from-hell Phyllis Paddock to detention, and generally attempting to declassify federal documents, SCULLAAAY (as co-star David Duchovny screamed in approximately every other episode) somehow found the time to heat things up with her fellow FBI agent and eventual baby daddy, Fox Mulder. What began as a professional, alien hostage-negotiating relationship slowly but surely became something that not even Eve 9 and Eve 10 could tear apart.

Other than her X-Files sex symbol credentials, Gillian has appeared in movies from Princess Mononoke to The Last King of Scotland. But in truth, she'll always be sci-fi's number one sweetheart (and permanently in my brother's Google search history). Happy birthday, Gillian!
