We've been waiting for Highland's fall collection to drop in stores ever since the brand's lava-lamp-lit and smoke-filled presentation back in February. While those boys may only have been getting one kind of high, the inspiration for the fall pieces came from the Stonemasters, a renegade group of rock climbers based out of Yosemite National Park in the 1970s. Set apart by both their extreme abilities and extremely unorthodox equipment (denim cutoffs, bandanas, surfer hair)—OK, maybe just lack of equipment—the Stonemasters were pioneers in the field of extreme sports. Creating a very 2013 take on the rugged, sun-baked Stonemaster look, Highland's fall collection provides psychedelic ikat shirts, merino wool knits, quilted bomber jackets, and, of course, a new variation on their classic logo-sleeve tee.
