Don't Go Chasing Waterfalls: Proenza pre-Fall 2013

When I'm feeling overheated, peeking at these pieces is like a splash of cool water. There is a major focus on H2O in Proenza Schouler's pre-Fall collection. Blues of all shades are mixed together to mimic the watery caves that designers Jack McCollough and Lazaro Hernandez encountered during a holiday in Fiji. Printed on a cotton-viscose blend, these patterns (based on the designers' own photographs) take on an iridescent quality, like waves glowing in sunlight. Or woven in a thick jacquard they have a globe-like texture. Completed with tie-dye T-shirts and optic white leather pieces, the collection is like a vision of a beautiful, untouched, tropical beach. This is a pre-Fall collection that allows you to hold on to the summer vibes as long as you like.
