Book Looks: Acne Studios pre-Fall 2013

Jonny Johansson is always inspired by something wonderful, and for Acne's pre-Fall collection, it was famed Swedish playwright August Strindberg. A quick Google Image search explains a lot—Strindberg wouldn't actually be that out of place today walking home to the Upper West Side after a long day at the office. Fond of single-breasted stiff coats, tuxedo collars (as well as very large collars), and large silhouettes in general, the writer had tastes that translate perfectly into the fashion world even over 100 years later. Boxy dresses, chunky turtleneck sweaters to layer over large collars, and structured coats suit the shifting weather patterns the same way a good book suits the long winter nights to come.
