The Family Jewels: Giles & Brother Resort 2012

Philip Crangi and his sister Courtney were born and raised in Palm Beach, a place where priceless estate jewelry and miles of sand combine, so it's no wonder they grew up with fantasies of finding buried treasure. The siblings are now fully based in New York, where their co-owned jewelry line, Giles & Brother (Giles was Courtney's nickname growing up), makes timeless American pieces for a new generation of treasure hunters.

The line is produced at the Crangis' Fashion District studio, where silversmiths work meters away from Philip's design space, allowing him to follow his far-ranging trails of imagination wherever they take him. The results are hardware-inspired pieces that somehow feel both like exquisite family heirlooms and wear-everyday pieces. The resort collection is a perfect example: oxidized silver and hematite team up on thick bracelets and chain necklaces that move like armor but, if you look closely, are sculpted like delicate petals.
