Last September, OC's longtime friends at Mama's Food Shop announced that they would be opening a new location in Williamsburg. In case you haven't visited the East Village shop before, Mama's is not only renowned for its fried chicken, but also for the many portraits of mamas that adorn its walls. For this reason, we were so excited when the owners, Jeremiah and Heather, asked us to contribute pictures of Humberto and Carol's moms to add to the collection. The end product? Two hand-painted illustrations of WENDY and HEIDI!
Su, Bettina, and I headed over to Mama's for a cozy dinner where we were filled up with a wide variety of mouthwatering dishes: fried chicken (the best ever), grilled tilapia, shredded roast pork with vegetables, meatloaf, beet and apple salad, brussels sprouts, along with a slamming plate of macaroni and cheese with mashed potato, and not to mention the perfectly sweet desserts that followed!
