This time of year brings the unavoidable influx of pictures on our Instagram feed featuring everyone’s favorite hybrid meal: brunch. However inundated you become this spring with talk of the B-word, stopping by Brooklyn's Whirlybird, serving breakfast tacos and coffee all day long, is a must.
I sampled the “Classic” Breakfast Taco ($4.00), a blend of scrambled eggs, Oaxaca cheese, and homemade salsa. The taco, topped with crunchy jalapeno potato chips, cilantro, and spicy chorizo (for an additional 50 cents), certainly beats your run-of-the-mill eggs benedict. I also ordered a jolt of organic espresso ($2.50) on the side, sourced from Brooklyn's own Oslo Coffee Roasters.
