Our visits to Aurélie Bidermann's Paris headquarters are always completely girly gigglefests, and this season was no different. Kate and I stopped by the showroom on one of the coldest days of fashion week to see the fall line and catch up with the jewelry designer over coffee and chocolate. As she draped necklaces and bracelets on us, Aurélie explained that she was thinking about iconic women of the 1970s like Talitha Getty and Mica Ertegun. Although Getty's luxe bohemianism and Ertegun's restrained precision don't automatically connect, they both share a chic confidence that makes total sense for Aurélie's universe. She and her designs radiate a strong sense of adventure and vacation, with pieces in bakelite (echoing ivory) and turquoise that feel like relics from a jaunt to Marrakech. In a very chic time capsule.

Aurélie's now-classic metal and thread bracelets and necklaces
Delicate ginkos, inspired by the ones in Yves Saint Laurent's garden in Marrakesh.
Which pearl bracelet? Can't decide!
More faux-ivory pieces
One of the designer's favorite pieces, a completely major turquoise necklace.
Aurélie's inspiration board. She painted the stripes on the board herself!
It's really hard to take a picture of Aurélie because she is always laughing and talking, bless her heart.
