Our desks: we probably spend more time at them than anywhere else. And just like our medicine cabinets, our desks are thoroughly demonstrative of who we really are. This new series brings us closer and closer into the lives of the many friends and family of OC.
Today, amid the frenzy of Men's Fashion Week preparations, London-based James Long brings us into his studio. Surrounded by ferns, friends, and a MAJOR Divine sweater, James' desk is covered with art and fashion books, cigarettes, and neat bunches of colored pencils.
Where is your desk? In my studio, in Hackney London. I only just got a desk though, it is my Mom's old desk. It has a red leather top.
Describe the average day in the office, at your desk. I draw, make a mess, I bang on my desk quite a lot either laughing or with anger. I have lots of fun visitors but only my sister is allowed to sit at my desk.
Do you have any peculiar or extra special desk object to speak of? At the moment a orchid sent to me by MAC, which is yellow. I also like to have lots of plants in the room.
Pen or pencil? Pens! I have a lot of colored pens in elastic bands.
What's the one item you’re constantly looking for but can never find? A pencil sharpener.
Do you have an emergency snack drawer? No, but I have a cigarette draw.
