For Fall/Winter 2013, it's official: Jack and Lazaro's slouchy PS1-slinging girl has full-out blossomed into a sleek, sophisticated lady who lunches––but who still couldn't care for owning a hairbrush. Tops and coats were architectural in their silhouettes, which seemed to mimic the perfect arches of aqueducts, lending a 1950s boxy chicness to the collection. The designers kept the palette mature and restrained to black and white, with the occasional exceptions of an icy grape, pale peach, and the faintest of mints, favoring textural exploration instead of going buck on the color spectrum (spongy tweeds, ostrich, rubbery synthetic fabrics, and more). The prim low heels and simple clutches pretty much sealed the deal: for FW13, the Proenza Schouler girl is a double-take-worthy demure demoiselle, flawless but unfussy; a perfect ten.
