The room at the Ostwald Helgason presentation yesterday was packed. The only person missing was Susanne Ostwald (whose flight had been canceled thanks to Nemo) but the show went on. Since the designers moved their presentation from London to New York last year, their following has snowballed. And yesterday they got everyone talking again—particularly about their sweatshirts printed with photos of Baudelaire and Rimbaud.
The premise of the collection was Les Fleurs du mal x Little Shop of Horrors. The brand's signature flared skirts and dresses came in bold color-blocked panels, complemented by hits of golden floral brocade. And botanical prints, featuring man-eating plants, starred on tailored jackets and knee-length shorts. Seasoned with polo collars and baseball caps, the mix was both cerebral and sporty—a combo that OH owns every season.
