OC's love for all things edible and delectable led us to NoLIta newcomer La Churreria, which serves up the quintessential Spanish churro snack among other bites. But these are nothing like your foot-long Costco churro batons covered in way too much cinnamon-sugar. La Churreria's are smaller, slender and barely dusted in granulated sugar. Plus, they're made fresh to order in the kitchen. Ask for the churros con chocolate special ($6.00), and you'll get five piping hot and crispy fritters with a small cup of intensely thick and delicious hot chocolate. We took a peek inside the kitchen to watch our churros come into being before our very eyes. Buen provecho!
