“Obsessive, Compulsive, Re-order” was the apt title of Christopher Shannon’s Fall/Winter 2013 show today, inspired by hoarding and the anti-outfit. Fabrics clashed to the extreme, emphasizing the nature of a hoarder’s weird and excessive tendencies. Denim, leather, glossy nylons, and a mixture of knits were used to display an "all and everything at once" impression; while details like zip necks, gaffer-taped jeans, and the occasional graphic image made reference to the cluttered and overbearing physical surroundings of a space like a jumble sale, where you can find a whole selection of random details and fabrics.
An unexpected addition to the show were female models depicting the adaptable nature of menswear and its evolution in London where it is becoming more common to see women experimenting with an androgynous style and embracing fresh new menswear labels, like Christopher Shannon. The "anti-woman," she might be called.
