Stuck in Korea (our FEATURED COUNTRY this year!) with nothing but a couple of "Where's the nearest restroom, please" phrases in your vocabulary? Our Korean Slang Book is here to save your trip.
The word young is Korean for "zero," but a cuter and less formal term for it is ppang (similar to the way "zilch" can be used in English). Paired with uhl, the Korean word for "face," it amounts to uhl ppang––the expression "zero face," which describes a not-so-attractive person, one whose picture Regina George would probably Sharpie "fugly" onto in her burn book. Example: "My blind date last night was so not cute––a total uhl ppang!" Better luck on OK Cupid next time!
