USA vs. Korea: Fleamadonna FW12

Fleamadonna, a Korean brand loved by K-pop idols and fans alike, toes the line between super adorable and super dark. The fall collection is a complete cute overload (in the best way) but with furry creepers mixed in. It's like a nod to the Japanese sub-subculture of Sweet Lolita but with more modern shapes. Soft pastels and even softer fabrics like faux fur and satin create a powder room vibe, reinforced by lipstick prints. But for every shiny jeweled button there's also a skirt split up to the thigh or a leather bustier! This season, Fleamadonna's designer Jei Kim also teams up with iconic London shoemaker Underground. The store has been a mecca for punks, new romantics, and new wavers for decades and Jei Kim puts her own spin on the classic Camden creeper with tufts of goat hair and a towering wedge heel.
