I managed to catch the intensely catchy and energetic Chains of Love on Friday at the Cake Shop in NYC's Lower East side. This Vancouver six-piece sounds like a 60s Motown girl group mixed with a harder and noisier punk edge. After a more-than-impressive South by Southwest showing earlier in the year and the release of their debut album Strange Grey Days, out on Manimal Vinyl, they further displayed their impressiveness with a busy CMJ performance schedule. I checked in with them below.
