OC x NYFW: Rodarte SS13

Although punk rock is not necessarily associated with RODARTE, the roots of punk are tied up with a nonconformist, DIY spirit that has much in common with Kate and Laura Mulleavy's work. So while today's radical show was surprising, it also makes total sense. The silhouette is more fitted, the girl is more new wave. Structured bodices, shimmery fabrics, hologram sculptural shoes, and leather grommet pants are all part of the look. As otherworldly alien goddess Karlie Kloss slinked by to the ominous sounds of The Cure's "A Forest," we got major goosebumps that didn't end until well after the final walk. Slicked hair and trellised three-dimensional nails by CND told a beauty story that we are now obsessed with, in both Instagram life and real life. All of the models were wearing Metal Dragon earrings, those goth-punk staples that we know will be having a moment in fashion circles now.
