With Brigitte Bardot's birthday coming up at the end of the month, I decided to celebrate with a little hair inspiration. This bun is a look that can never be wrong, and it's a great way to keep your hair out of your face (especially when you're busy running from show to show this Fashion Week). Here is my undone––I kind of hate this word––"up-do" in a few easy steps!
Brigitte Here, hair powder is the most important tool. It helps you build that fluffy 60s babe texture. You'll also need your favorite hair spray to hold or emphasize fly aways, large hairpins, bobby pins, and (the big secret here) elastic string bought from a craft store. My hair is air-dried and too soft. So I spray white hair powder, focusing on the roots of my hair.
I want to build some texture around the face so I lightly tease both sides before I pull it up into a high pony tail.
I like to spray the back to encourage any little bits that fall behind, but I actually don't mind if they end up falling down in the end.
I tie my high pony close to my bang section.

And tighten it after.


Now we're getting to the fun part. Start teasing your pony tail to create big volume and texture. The hair powder and hair spray are key players here.
Pull the hair out in all directions.

Cut a long piece of elastic thread. Here I use white but you can also play around with colored elastic too.

Grab the tip of your hair and tie the end with the elastic.

Now you are going to loop the elastic around and tie it back and forth. The idea is to create a loose shape with the elastic and then tie a bow in the back.
