Virgin Surf 'N' Turf: Eric Yahnker at The Hole

Last Tuesday, The Hole hosted LA artist Eric Yahnker's first New York exhibition, Virgin Surf ‘N’ Turf, showcasing an assortment of drawings and installations that comment on contemporary American celebrity and politics with a humorous touch. Is that Jesus catching up on some light reading––Michele Bachmann's Core Conviction––just before being nailed to the cross? And don't mind Tiger Woods' face sketched onto that woman's derriere. Across the way, what's tied onto the hanging rope installation? Patriotically colored red, white, and blue mesh thongs, of course! Wit and comedic aspect aside, Yahnker's graphite skills come across as incredibly impressive. Have a look at the pics from the opening, and catch the show before it closes on October 6th, 2012.
