On Saturday night some of us OC staffers were privileged to attend a listening party at Sonos Studios in Los Angeles for Paul Banks' new EP, Julian Plenti Lives... Paul is best known for his work as the frontman of Interpol, but has been exploring his own artistry as of late. After a discussion of his work including covers of J Dilla, Frank Sinatra, and the theme from The Running Man (1987), we were treated to a live set! Paul himself explained it was his first show (his follow-up performance was at the FYF music festival in downtown LA the following day). We had a great time, and his voice and guitar style is still resonating with us now. Check out our snaps from the night, and seriously think about getting your hands on that album...
