It's gonna be a long, hot summer in the Northern Hemisphere! The column 'Wet Hot OC Summer' is here to share the best ice cream trucks around the city, teach you how to pack the perfect picnic, and prep the punchiest cocktail to escape the heat.
This week, I located the Coolhaus truck at the Union Square Farmer's market. The Coolhaus truck was started in 2009 in Los Angeles by Natasha Case and Freya Estreller. SInce then, they've expanded their menu to include wild flavors like Cuban Cigar and Candied Bacon, which they serve between two freshly baked cookies. I ordered the Fried Chicken and Waffles flavor on a chocolate chip cookie for $6. Read my Q+A with Natasha below and check Coolhaus' TWITTER for daily updates on where to find the truck.
