Few new publications or brands manage to define their aesthetic within their first few seasons. So when I see something and say, "That's so Dis" to someone, and they instantly agree, I know that Dis is something unique. A multimedia art magazine that facilitates everything from live-streamed raves to surveying the latest in art school trends, Dis has a cleverness made possible by the wit of a special group of like-minded talents—two of whom are David Toro and Solomon Chase. Daria Radlinski: What was your first job?
Solomon Chase: I was a baby model.
David Toro: I worked at Subway back when employees were called "Sandwich Artists."
DR: What do you never leave home without?
SC: My Blu E Cig, Nike sunglasses, and a very small backpack.
DT: I always leave things at home!
DR: What object in your apartment have you had for the longest time? Is there a story behind it?
SC: I have a tall white column that supposedly used to belong to Halle Berry, I like to think it was in the movie B*A*P*S.
DT: A crucifix from T.J that glows in the dark.
DT: I like my Under Armour but I love my International Male.
DR: What is your favorite Chinatown hidden treasure?
SC: My hair salon on Canal and Orchard, where two Chinese queens give amazing highlights!
DR: Do you have a lucky charm?
SC: I have a lot of Croc keychains.
DT: No
DR: What song will you always love?
SC: "Mmm Mmm Mmm Mmm" by the Crash Test Dummies, because I'm really good at singing it at karaoke, and I hate karaoke.
DT: Aeroplane
DR: If you were going to be in a band who would you want to be your band mates?
SC: Michel Sanchez and Eric Mouquet of Deep Forest.
DT: Ari Up, The Claw, and Pitbull.
DR: Any summer plans?
SC: Find a rooftop pool I can go to every day. I have some leads.
DT: Thoroughly enjoy myself!
