Chat Room Rave: Pictureplane at XTAPUSSY

Soho went cyber last Saturday night, as throngs of "screenagers" transformed Nicola Formichetti's huge Greene St. loft into a real-life AIM chat room. The walls of the main floor flickered with vintage y2k-era visuals, beamed straight from the hard drives of trained .GIF handlers, including DIS' Solomon Chase and Patrick Dyer. Downstairs, Travis Egedy, aka Pictureplane,  made everyone sweat with a laser-lit show with backup dancers hoisting his trademark "Real Is A Feeling" banner over a surging crowd. Teengirl Fantasy closed out the night with a rave-paced DJ set, cut short around 3:30 by the surprisingly late arrival of the NYPD.
