Jedediah Caesar at D'Amelio Gallery

The best thing since sliced bread? Jedediah Caesar's sliced resin, currently on display at D'Amelio Gallery. Made of organic and inorganic found materials cast into resin (chicken wire, tree stumps, and plastic knickknacks among them), the artist's solid blocks of miscellaneous matter are then sliced into thin segments. The result is framed chaos in every slab of playful and puzzling abstraction. Think your high school science class' microscope slides, but totally tricked out.

Through June 22, 2012.
