When in the Bowery... Betty Woodman at Salon 94

For those of you who thought Roman antiquity was so second century B.C., go to Salon 94 on the Bowery and think again. In her recently opened show Roman Fresco /Pleasure and Places, artist Betty Woodman remixes the forms and motifs of classicism, using clay, exuberant colors, whimsical forms, and lacquer to the max. The result is a shiny and vibrant reacquaintance with pottery. Check out the show before it closes on January 21st, 2012. If you're lucky, the gallery's scrumptious little resident canine, Ludwig von Truffle, might even come out and say hi.
